I suppose the food was all right
The thing that got under my skin though was when I ordered the pizza buffalota. I asked if they could put the buffalo mozzarella on the pizza after they cooked it. The waitress told me that due to the moisture content of the cheese, they had to do it that way. I told her that was great as they were already gonna do what I wanted. Then she stopped me and repeated everything sentence by sentence and after every sentence I tried to tell her I already understood, but she kept going, and then asked me if I wanted the buffala put on BEFORE they cooked it. I was buffala baffled because I literally hadn't blurted the word "before" in the building even once, so I have no idea where that came from. I told her that that was absolutely not what I wanted and she walked away confused, and then proceeded to complain about the interaction to another employee within eye and earshot of me. Like, at least go to another room or something.
After that point she was completely silent and didn't even look in my direction until another waitress took over for her. Later this second waitress asked me in English if I wanted anything for dessert, so I asked why she switched. She looked like she didn't understand me so I assumed maybe she wasn't Spanish and I tried asking in Italian but she looked even more confused after that. She called the first waitress over who then said it was because I didn't understand HER? What‽ Just to clarify for anyone reading this who maybe thinks I'm just bad at Spanish, I speak C1 Spanish. Like, I took the legit test, and I can speak and understand Spanish at a C1 level; I understood everything she said. It was definitely the other way around.
At the end, I called her over cause I wanted to clear up any ambiguity, you know? Like, see if maybe I said something wrong, so I could fix it and say it in a clearer way next time. She agreed, then she told me that there were two types of mozzarella. Then afterwards, she complained about the interaction again, a little more out of earshot this time at least.
Like, okay, I wanted my food a certain way, they were already gonna make it that way. That's great, I don't know why it had to become a whole thing. I legitimately don't know what I could've said after she said the whole moisture content thing that would've ended the interaction. I don't know how many times I had to say "I understand" that night to no avail. I don't have a problem with any of that. But goddamn, if you're gonna complain about a customer interaction, don't do it in earshot of the customer. I guess the moral of the story is don't come here if you speak Spanish but look like you don't? Unless you enjoy that sort of thing, I don't know.
The food was all right, but definitely not worth feeling like I'm...

My brother comes plenty to Sevilla mainly because of the Féria de los Toros so pretty much in April & September he’s always in town.
Make sure to make a reservation in every restaurant you try to visit in Sevilla
He recommended us to come to Maccheroni as it was the best Italian cuisine in Sevilla. It is very yummy though their pasta is definitely not al dente and after visiting a few places in Italy beforehand; it’s not very Italian. We had to wait a good 5 minutes for anyone to notice we were ready to order and mind we were right in-front of the kitchen which when they pass to wait for dishes they could’ve noticed we were ready. It also happened with ordering dessert, coffee and the check! They were more concentrated on a 3 year toddler named Martin than actually serving the customer’s. If toddler isn’t owner’s son; let me inform you that Human Resources nor inspection will permit having a toddler in the kitchen or bar area while staff are working.
We had a reservation yesterday at 3 PM
Started off with a glass of their La Guardiense Janare Beneveto Aglianico Red Wine; different but very smooth.
For appetizer • Carpaccio di Bresaola was delicious every single bite but we were expecting this to arrive as an appetizer but it ended up coming with all of our meals (disappointing)
For our entrée’s • Mezzi Rigatoni alla Carbonara again not al dente. Very flavorful and presentation was perfect. Needed a little extra Pecorino or Parmesan we were never offered that option. • Tagliatelle del Maccheroni again not al dented but loved it. Wished the bacon or if they used pancetta was a little extra crispier. But flavor overall was fantastic also I was never offered extra pecorino/parmesan to sprinkle to the pasta. • Cotoletta alla Milanese was a very thin veal lightly battered with chips. It wasn’t anything out of this world.
For dessert • Tiramisu was very exquisite every single bite and paired it with a Caffe Macchiato.
I would’ve tried their Panna Cotta as well after finishing the tiramisu but to beg for service at a restaurant is definitely not happening on my end.
The tall gentleman was very nice in getting our check but it took forever for the short bar guy and the girl up front who was very much entertained with Martin. I had to raise my voice in order for someone to get attention that we were ready to pay in cash.
Food was delicious but service wouldn’t visit again just for that...
Read moreFor starters we had the beef carpaccio and a strawberry goat cheese salad. Both excellent. Carpaccio is a particular weakness for me. I crave it. like I'm pregnant. I am often disappointed with carpaccio because I hold it to a very high standard. Maccheroni's carpaccio rose to the occasion! I ordered a take home for my next day lunch. I had the Cannelloni. One of the best I've ever had in my life. Plenty of crispy cheese sauce edges and perfectly spiced meat sauce. The pasta itself...speechless, so damn good. Perfect taste. Perfect texture. My daughter had the gnocchi and it literally melted in your mouth. The sauce is addictive! We will be dreaming of it and trying to relive the experience for the rest of our lives. We ordered a take home for her lunch next day. It was fantastic. I had a Sicilian red wine and a Prosecco. Followed by a much needed walk around the beautiful neighborhood. Seville after dark is quaint and lively, the essence of what you might imagine of Spanish culture...cool, Eccentric, Elegant and romantic. Echoes of laughter, Kids playing in courtyards, husbands whispering secrets to their wives over a night cap, teenagers milling about looking for a place to dance. Great...
